Tröstau municipality (Gemeinde Tröstau) lies in southwestern Wunsiedel administrative district, Upper Franconia administrative region, Bavaria, Germany. Its seat is Tröstau village.

In the 19th century, Tröstau was the seat of a smaller Tröstau municipality, Wunsiedel regional judicial district (Landgericht Wunsiedel). Vordorf municipality merged with Tröstau municipality in 1978 (Vordorf official page [site in German]).

Vordorf

The village of Vordorf lies in northern Tröstau municipality. Tröstau’s Vordorf is not to be confused with the other Vordorf in Bavaria, to the south of this one: Vordorf village, Haiming municipality, Altötting administrative district, Upper Bavaria administrative region.

In the 19th century, Vordorf village was the seat of its own Vordorf municipality, Wunsiedel regional judicial district (Landgericht Wunsiedel), and Tröstau was a separate municipality in Wunsiedel regional judicial district. Vordorf municipality merged with Tröstau municipality in 1978 (Vordorf official page [site in German]).
